Abishek Porel

Abishek Porel is an Indian cricketer. He plays for Bengal in domestic cricket and for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. He is a wicket – keeper batsman who bats left – handed.

Early life:

He is the cousin of Indian seam bowler Ishan Porel.

Domestic Career:

• Porel has played in sixteen first – class matches to the end of the 2022 – 23 season. He has dismissed 66 batters with 58 catches and eight stumpings. He also played in fourteen T20s to October 2023 (five caught).
• First Class Debut: Baroda vs Bengal at Cuttack – February 17 – 20, 2022
• List A Debut: Puducherry vs Bengal at Ranchi – November 17, 2022
• T20 Debut: Odisha vs Bengal at Lucknow – October 14, 2022

Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 Franchise Career:

• In the 2023 IPL, he was brought in by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for injured Rishabh Pant. He played 4 games, scored a total of 33 runs at an average of 8.25 and strike rate of 106.45.
• In the 2024 IPL, he was retained by Delhi Capitals. He played all 14 league games, scoring a total of 327 runs at an average of 32.70 with two 50s. His strike rate was 159.51.
