Vicky Ostwal

Vicky Kanhaiya Ostwal is an Indian cricketer who plays for Maharashtra in the domestic field and is a part of the Delhi Capitals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Early life:

• Vicky Ostwal distinguished himself in domestic cricket at a young age, which quickly led to his selection for international play.
• He was chosen to be part of the India U – 19 B team for the U – 19 Triangular Series, competing against Bangladesh U – 19, India U – 19 A, and India U – 19 B.
• Remarkably, Vicky was also a member of India’s victorious U – 19 World Cup team in 2022.
• He scored 12 wickets in six games, including an impressive five – wicket haul against South Africa.
• After this, he emerged as India’s leading wicket – taker in the tournament.
• His consistent performances earned him a spot on the ICC’s Most Valuable Team of the event.
• Hailing from the town of Lonavala, Vicky Ostwal’s love for cricket was evident from a very young age as he regularly traveled to Mumbai to practice at the Vengsarkar Academy.
• He later moved to Pune and played age – group cricket for Maharashtra.
• Since the age of 16, Vicky played alongside players senior to him which according to his childhood coach Mohan Jadhav, helped him develop his game.

Domestic Career:

• The young player, who looks up to Ravindra Jadeja, made his domestic debut in all three formats for Maharashtra later that year.
• First Class debut: on February 2022 in the match of Vidarbha vs Maharashtra in Sultanpur
• Since then, he’s played in five First Class matches, taking eight wickets with an economy rate of 3.14.
• T20 debut: In the same season, in October 2022 against Meghalaya in Mohali
• So far, he’s appeared in four T20 games, where he’s taken four wickets and kept an impressive economy rate of 4.35.
• List A debut: in November 2022, against Mizoram in Ranchi
