Dilshan Madushanka

Dilshan Madushanka is a pro cricketer who plays limited over internationals for Sri Lanka.

Early Life: Dilshan was born in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. He did his studies at Hungama Vijayaba Central College, Hungama.

Domestic Career: Dilshan made his first-class debut on 13 March 2020. He played for Colts Cricket Club in the 2019 – 2020 Premier League Tournament. He was enlisted by the Dambulla Viiking in October 2020 to play for the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League.

His Twenty20 debut was on 9 December 2020. He played in the 2020 Lanka Premier League for the Dambulla Viiking. He played for the Galle Gladiators in November 2021 Lanka Premier League. He was recruited by the Jaffna Kings in July 2022 for the Lanka Premier League third edition.

International Career:
He was recruited in the Sri Lanka team for the January 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

• December 2020: Dilshan played for Sri Lanka’s Test squad for their series against South Africa.
• February 2021: He played for Sri Lanka’s limited overs squad for their series against the West Indies.
• April 2021: He played for Sri Lanka’s Test squad for their series against Bangladesh.

He made his List A debut on 8 June 2022. He played for Sri Lanka A against Australia A during Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka. In the same month later on, he played for Sri Lanka’s Test squad for their home series against Australia. He made his ODI debut on 10 January 2023, against India.

Major Achievements:

• On 27 January 2020, Dilshan won a five-wicket haul in Sri Lanka’s plate quarter-final match against Nigeria.
• In the 2023 World Cup, he won 21 wickets over 9 matches at an average of 25.00.
• He got his first ODI five-wicket haul of 5/80 against India. This was held on 2nd November 2023.
