Nehal Wadhera

Nehal Wadhera is a 24-year-old Indian cricketer from Ludhiana, Punjab. He bats left-handed. In addition, he is known for his aggressive batting style. He plays for the Punjab team in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He has been considered the “new-age Yuvraj Singh” because of his middle-order batting leverages and technical resemblance to Yuvraj Singh.

Wadhera started playing cricket at a young age. He made his way up through the ranks, eventually making it to the Punjab U-23 side. He made a name for himself in the 2017–18 Cooch Behar Trophy. He scored 540 runs with six half-centuries. As a result, he was selected to play against Sri Lanka in 2018 with the Indian U-19 squad.

In the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy, he made his senior first-class debut and performed well. He scored 123 runs against Gujarat in his debut match. This helped Punjab win by 380 runs. In just his third game, he scored 214 runs against Madhya Pradesh. He was signed by Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 20 lakhs in the 2023 IPL auction.

In his IPL career, he has played 14 matches and scored 241 runs with an average of 26.78. He has hit two half-centuries, with his highest score being 64 runs. He has hit 23 fours and 12 sixes. His last match was in May 2023 against Gujarat. Here, he scored 4 runs off 3 balls at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
