Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande is an Indian cricketer. He plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and also, for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm medium pacer and a left-hand batsman. Tushar was born on May 15, 1995, in Kalyan, Mumbai. He has been passionate about cricket since childhood. He played for Mumbai– in under-14, under-16, and under-19 age groups. Due to his consistently good performance, later he caught the attention of Mumbai selectors. In this tournament, he took 21 wickets in four Cooch Behar Trophy matches.

In 2016-17, Tushar made his first-class debut for– Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. However, he was sidelined for almost a year due to a serious injury and also his mother’s death at the same time around. He made a comeback in 2018. Here, played even better than before. He picked up 15 wickets in the Vijaya Hazare Trophy. This individual performance helped Mumbai win the trophy for the first time in 12 years. In the Ranji Trophy in the same year, he took 17 wickets in five matches.

In 2020, Tushar secured a contract with Delhi Daredevils for Rs 20 lakhs in IPL. He played in five matches. Unfortunately, he only managed to take three wickets. He was released from the Delhi team ahead of the IPL 2022 season. Later, Chennai Super Kings bought him for a base price of Rs 20 lakhs in the auction.

Tushar Deshpande is a 29-year-old Indian cricketer. Currently, he plays for the Chennai team in the Indian Premier League. Deshpande is from Mumbai and is a medium-seam bowler. He made his IPL debut in 2020 and has played 23 matches so far. He took 25 wickets, with an average of 32.76, and conceded nearly 10.13 runs per over. His best individual figure is 3/45. The Chennai team acquired Deshpande’s services for Rs 20.00 Lac during the IPL Auction in 2024. His last IPL match was in May 2023 against Gujarat at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, India. In this match, he had bowling figures of 56/0.
