After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022, @RishabhPant17 has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming #TATA @IPL 2024”
However, Shami was ruled out of the games for this year.
BCCI issued fitness and medical updates
On Rishabh, the Board said the following statement.
“After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life – threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022, near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit as a wicketkeeper – batter for the upcoming IPL 2024.”
As reported by starpunternews, Prasidh Krishna, member of the Board said the following statement on Shami.
“The fast bowler underwent surgery on February 23rd, 2024, on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and is ruled out of the upcoming TATA IPL 2024.”
Brief history of Pant and DC
Representing Delhi Capitals since 2016, Rishabh scored 2838 runs in 98 matches. It was at an average of 34.61 and a strike rate of over 147. He won a century and 15 fifties too!
IPL is set to begin at the M. A. C. Stadium in Chennai. DC will play their first game at Mohali. They will be playing against Punjab Kings on 23 March.
